Foodservice Packaging Materials Guide

Material is one part of product selection. Temperature, clarity, rigidity, leak resistance, local rules, and the food itself determine whether a package is suitable.

PET and PP

PET is commonly selected for clear cold-food and cold-drink presentation. PP products cover different temperature and flexibility needs; verify the exact item specification for the intended service.

Fiber and paper

Paper and bagasse products serve drinkware, plates, bowls, and takeout formats. Coatings, lids, moisture exposure, and hold time still need product-specific review.

Validate the use case

Tell EDI what is being packed, its temperature, hold time, transport method, and disposal requirements. Samples are the safest proof for a new application.
